The use of phosphogypsum for soil bricks manufacturing as an alternative for its sustainable destination

This research studies soil-compacted bricks using phosphogypsum (PG) in their dosage. Laboratory tests were performed to assess these bricks’ physical characteristics. To obtain the bricks, two dosages used: 4 and 7% of concentration. Bricks with no mixture also assessed as a benchmark. The brick’s characteristics obtained by dried sun an oven at 900 °C for 96 h. results laboratory analyzed through statistical analysis explore differences between means each studied condition (dosage drying method). We found statistically significant difference mean strength 4% dosage PG. Beyond dosage, presented reduction. For all dosages, showed higher than sun. However, according Brazilian Technical Standards, enough be used regular construction. Therefore, brick manufacturing can alternative disposal method, which help mitigate civil construction environmental impacts.
